UX research: user quotes from hours of recordings
After a round of ten hour-long interviews, a researcher has ten hours of video and a report that needs real quotes in it. Usually that means waiting for transcripts or rewatching sessions with a notepad. Rescanzo searches what was said right in the video, in Russian and English.
Quotes by keyword
In Pro mode, type words you remember from the conversation or expect to hear: “couldn’t find where to pay”, “too many steps”, “I use the competitor because”. Rescanzo returns the moments where it was said across every recording in the folder, so you can compare the same point from different participants back to back.
Searching by what’s on screen helps too, especially with screen recordings: “payment form on screen”, “settings menu open”. Queries like these run in Low and Mid right on your computer.
A reel for the team
A short cut of users’ own voices convinces a product team better than a spreadsheet. Gather the quotes into a collection and send them to your editing app: Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve get a ready timeline, and for CapCut Rescanzo cuts separate MP4 clips.
Participant consent and data
Interview recordings hold personal data, and consent forms usually say where it gets processed. In Low and Mid the video never leaves your computer. In Pro, short found fragments go to the cloud to be checked and aren’t stored there; if your consent form doesn’t allow that, stay in Low and Mid and search by picture.
Questions and answers
Can I search several research rounds at once?
Yes, if every round’s recordings are in one folder added to Rescanzo. A query runs across all the files, so you can follow one problem from round to round.
What if a participant speaks another language?
Then speech search won’t help: it only works with Russian and English. Picture search still does, for example by what’s on screen.
What does speech search cost?
2 tokens a search plus 1 for every started minute the cloud checks. The app shows the exact price before you run it.
Will video call recordings work?
Yes, as long as the recording is saved to your computer as a video file in a folder added to Rescanzo.
Try it on your own footage
A new account gets 50 tokens: that's 25 searches in Mid mode.
