Lectures and online courses: find where a topic was explained

Online schools collect years of webinar and lecture recordings, and finding one particular explanation in them is close to impossible without a transcript. Rescanzo searches speech, so you only need the words that were said in class.

Search by speech00:00:00:00

Search by what was said

In Pro mode Rescanzo listens to the recording's audio. Type what the teacher said, for example "compound interest formula" or "homework for next class", and you get the moment with its timecode. A search like that costs 2 tokens plus 1 for every started minute of video the cloud checks.

Short videos from long recordings

A two-hour webinar holds several five-minute videos for social media or a new course module. Found fragments go from your collection to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro as a ready timeline (or to CapCut as separate clips), and all that's left is trimming the ends and adding titles.

Whiteboard, slides and screen shares

Search by description helps here too: "teacher writing on the whiteboard", "table on screen", "code demo in an editor", "students raising hands". These run in Low for 1 token and Mid for 2 on your Mac, and the recordings go nowhere.

A large archive

Low and Mid cost the same however many hours sit in the folder. With Pro speech search the budget depends on how much of what's found the cloud checks, so start with the courses you plan to update first and watch how many tokens a typical search takes.

Questions and answers

What about lectures in other languages?

Speech search works with Russian and English only for now. Recordings in other languages can only be searched by what's on screen: the whiteboard, slides, screen shares.

Will Zoom webinar recordings work?

Rescanzo searches the video files in the folder you add. Save the webinar recording to your computer and add its folder.

How do I find where a particular term comes up?

In Pro mode type the term the way it was said in class. If the teacher used several forms, say an abbreviation and the full name, try both; each query counts as a separate search.

Does the lecture recording go to the cloud?

Not in Low or Mid: everything runs on your computer. In Pro only short found fragments go to be checked, and they aren't stored.

Try it on your own footage

A new account gets 50 tokens: that's 25 searches in Mid mode.
