Searching the archive

Write it the way you remember it: “kids blowing out birthday candles”, “Christmas tree with presents underneath”, “toddler taking first steps”, “grandma at the dacha table”, “swimming in the river”. File names like VID_20160812 and years scattered across folders don’t get in the way: Rescanzo looks at the picture, not the labels.

If digitised tapes sit in the folder as ordinary video files, they’re searched just like phone clips.

Toasts and wishes by their words

Family videos are full of talk: birthday wishes, songs at the table, toasts. In Pro mode Rescanzo searches what was said in Russian and English, for example “happy anniversary, grandma” or “make a wish”. Pro costs 2 tokens plus 1 for every started minute of video the cloud checks.

Private stays at home

Nobody wants to upload family footage to someone else’s service just to search it. Low and Mid run entirely on your computer, and they’re enough for searching the picture. Pro sends only short found fragments to be checked, and they aren’t stored; if you’d rather avoid even that, skip Pro.

The anniversary film

Found moments collect in a collection. If you edit in CapCut, Rescanzo cuts them into separate MP4 clips and opens the folder. For Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve the collection goes over as a ready timeline, where you put the clips in order and add music.
