Rescanzo vs Premiere Pro Media Intelligence
Since version 26 (Adobe now calls it just Premiere), Premiere Pro searches footage by description with Media Intelligence and by speech through transcripts, all from the Search panel. It's the strongest built-in search of the big editing apps, so here's an honest look at what Rescanzo still adds.

Where Premiere Pro is stronger
For speech, Premiere is ahead: transcription runs on your computer in many languages, Russian included, and one search covers every transcribed clip in the project. Rescanzo's speech search understands only Russian and English and needs Pro mode. Results from the Search panel go into a sequence with In and Out already set, and Search Similar Frames finds other takes of the same shot. It's all part of the subscription you already pay for. In ProVideo Coalition's February 2026 comparison of visual search tools, Premiere came second, behind only Jumper.
Where Rescanzo helps
Media Intelligence takes English queries only; Rescanzo's description search understands Russian too. Premiere searches only the open project, so a big archive has to be imported and analysed first; Rescanzo searches the folder itself and hands Premiere only the moments you pick. For hard visual queries, Pro mode has a cloud AI double-check what was found. And if you also cut in Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut, the same Rescanzo search works for all of them.
How to choose
If you work in Premiere and are fine writing queries in English, start with Media Intelligence: it's already paid for. Try Rescanzo when you want to search footage before it goes into a project, query in Russian, or keep one search across several editing apps. Run the same queries in both: the 50 starter tokens cover about 25 Mid searches.
Questions and answers
Is it Premiere or Premiere Pro now?
Adobe dropped "Pro" from the name with version 26.0 in January 2026. It's the same app; we say Premiere Pro on this site because that's the name most editors still use.
Does Rescanzo need Premiere's analysis?
No. Rescanzo builds its own index from your footage, so Media Intelligence doesn't have to analyse anything for it.
Try it on your own footage
A new account gets 50 tokens: that's 25 searches in Mid mode.
