Where ShotAI is stronger
ShotAI tags shots by size, lighting and camera movement on its own, so you can filter down to, say, wide panning shots only. Besides FCPXML, XML and EDL, which Rescanzo writes too, ShotAI can export OpenTimelineIO. And searching itself is close to free: a thousand queries cost 16 cents.
Where Rescanzo is handier
With ShotAI most of the money goes on indexing: 7 cents for every minute of footage, about $4.20 per hour before your first search. Rescanzo charges tokens only for searches, so a big archive where you need a couple of moments costs less. Rescanzo also has speech search in Pro mode and exports to CapCut and VEGAS Pro, and prices are in rubles.
How to choose
If you search the same archive a lot and care about filtering by shot size and camera movement, look at ShotAI. If the footage is new every time, you need to search what was said on camera, or you edit in CapCut or VEGAS Pro, Rescanzo is the better fit.
